Winter skin in our Northeast Corner of the USA takes a beating! Wicked cold, sub zero temps. and harsh winds mixed with dry indoor heat just suck the moisture right out of our skin. Often our skin is left itchy, sensitive and irritated. While choosing a handmade soap full of great ingredients can help immensely, one old fashioned remedy is an oatmeal bath. Oatmeal creates a soothing, milky bath that helps to restore moisture and minerals. Oatmeal has also been known and used to help sooth a sunburns and help reduce the uncomfortable symptoms of skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as infections from poison ivy, oak and sumac.
BUT what if you don't have time to sit and soak? I created these super easy "kits" for you to make an easy Oatmeal Shower Bag. Easy to assemble, you just grate some soap(we recommend Casco Bay Soap Co. soaps, of course!), add some oatmeal, (straight from your pantry! Rolled, Old Fashioned, Instant - whatever type you have) tie the bag close and use. Simply "scrunch" the bag under the water to work some of the milky oatmeal "water" and suds though the bag. You can also toss in a bathtub and create a bath and then won't have to cleanup of the loose oatmeal when your bath drains. Use again and again. Hang it to dry between uses.
You are purchasing 1 muslin bag (empty) with an easy to follow recipe card attached. Please note that we are not making any claims that an oatmeal bath or shower will cure any skin conditions, it can helps soothe the irritation and inflammation
