Calendula is an amazing herb. Calendula is native to the Mediterranean Region and has been used since the 1100's in cooking and for its healthful properties.
Calendula Oil is made from the dried petals of the Calendula flower (Calendula officinalis) also know as the Pot Marigold. We make our Calendula oil by steeping Calendula petals in warm olive oil for 2 weeks. We then strain this oil and use it as the base to our soaps. We add a bit of Calendula petals throughout the soap for additional appearance.
Calendula is great for super sensitive skins. Known also for healing rashes, chapped skin, scratches, some insect bites, and minor burns. Calendula is know to be anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral.
We leave our Calendula soap unscented so those looking for a super gentle soap don't have to worry about additional fragrances that may cause irritation.
To prolong the life of your bar of soap, simply keep it out of a puddle of water and in a well draining soap dish.
